Search traffic takes time, so the work has to start early. A simple plan for the months around launch.

SEO rarely pays off in the first week, which is exactly why it gets skipped during a launch. But the groundwork you lay early decides how quickly search starts sending you people later.

Before launch: get the basics right

  • Make sure pages can be crawled and indexed, and submit a sitemap.
  • Give every page a unique title and description written for humans.
  • Check page speed on a mid-range phone, not just your laptop.

Month one: pages for real questions

List the questions your customers ask before buying, then write a clear page for each one. Comparison pages, how-it-works pages and pricing explainers tend to bring in people who are close to a decision.

Months two and three: measure and adjust

Watch which queries you are starting to appear for in Search Console. Improve the pages that are close to the first page of results before writing new ones. Small edits to a page ranking eleventh often beat a brand-new article.

Write for the questions people actually type, not the keywords you wish they typed.

None of this is glamorous. It is just consistent, and consistency is what compounds.
